Celine Dion Finally Reveals Her Health Problems In An Emotional Video, And She Needs Our Prayers

Magazines have been discussing Céline Dion’s health ever since the singer appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight. Concerned fans have expressed their worries, noting that she no longer resembles her former self.

On the other hand, she insisted on being left alone. In an interview with The Sun, the Canadian-born singer had a message for those criticizing her appearance: «If I like it, I don’t want to discuss it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture. If you approve, I’ll appreciate it. If not, please leave me alone.»

However, it was recently disclosed by one of her representatives that Dion is dealing with muscle spasms, which impact her ability to perform on stage. Consequently, due to the pandemic and its effect on many people’s lives, Dion was compelled to cancel multiple concert dates in Las Vegas. This included cancellations from November of last year, as well as from January 19 to February 5, 2022.

The statement read, «Celine has been grappling with severe and persistent muscle spasms, which have hindered her ability to perform.»

«Her medical team is ongoing in their evaluation and treatment of her condition. However, the symptoms she is experiencing are preventing her from taking part in the ongoing rehearsals for the new show.»

The singer expressed her disappointment over the postponed concert dates and the health challenges she has been facing in a heartfelt message on Instagram.

«Hello, everyone. I apologize for taking so long to connect with you. I miss you all dearly, and I’m eagerly looking forward to being back on stage and speaking with you in person,» Dion expressed in the video.

«As you know, I’ve always been transparent, but I wasn’t ready to address this earlier. However, I’m prepared now. I’ve been struggling with health issues for quite some time, and it’s been incredibly challenging for me to confront these obstacles and discuss everything I’ve been experiencing,» she shared candidly.

«Lately, I’ve been diagnosed with a highly uncommon neurological disorder known as stiff-person syndrome, which only affects about one in a million individuals. While we’re still in the process of understanding this rare condition, we now realize that it’s the underlying cause of all the spasms I’ve been experiencing. Regrettably, these spasms impact every facet of my daily life, occasionally hindering my ability to walk and preventing me from using my vocal cords to sing as I’m accustomed to,» she explained.

«I’m diligently working with my sports medicine therapist every day to regain my strength and performance abilities, but I must confess, it’s been quite a challenge,» she shared. «Singing is all I’ve ever known. It’s been my lifelong passion and the thing I love to do the most.»

«I miss you all dearly. I miss the thrill of performing on stage for each of you. I’ve always strived to give my all during my shows, but unfortunately, my current condition is preventing me from doing so at the moment,» she continued.

Dion closed the video by saying, «I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the supportive wishes, love, and encouragement I’ve received on my social media. Your unwavering support means the world to me.»

“Take care of yourselves. Be well. I love you guys so much and I really hope I can see you again real soon.”

Dion has a strong connection to Las Vegas, a place she considers home. Her journey with the «Sin City» began in 2003 when she embarked on a four-year Las Vegas residency, which proved to be enormously successful, grossing over $385 million.

Years later, Dion made a triumphant return to the Las Vegas stage for a residency at Caesars Palace, where she broke the world record with an astounding 1,141 performances, as reported by Billboard.

At the same time, she holds the records for the two best-selling residencies of all time.

Due to the health challenges she’s encountered, Dion initially announced that her tour would kick off in May 2022. However, the shows have since been postponed further. Concurrently, she has also delayed her Las Vegas residency.

Her two previous Las Vegas residencies alone amassed a staggering $680 million. With a reported net worth of around $800 million, Dion’s financial success is undeniable. In 2019 alone, she reportedly earned $37 million.

The singer’s absence from the stage has had a significant impact on her income, with reports suggesting she has lost approximately $70 million in revenue, based on her earnings from the Celine residency show.

In addition, she’s grateful that her time off has allowed her to spend more time with her children.
